Do your tailpipe and rear muffler appear to be hanging lower to the ground than normal? This could be that one of the exhaust mounts has come loose, or even a sign of a broken pipe.

You can’t leave your muffler like this. If you discover the muffler or tailpipe dragging along the ground, then this is an obvious sign that something is seriously amiss. 

Rust Caused by Condensation 

The muffler can rust due to the build-up of condensation in the muffler and the exhaust system over time. 

Over time and through all the constant warming up and cooling down cycles, your muffler may start to leak exhaust gases, and if you notice excessive condensation leaking from your exhaust pipe, especially during warmer periods of the day, this can be a sign of your muffler beginning to wear out.
